 Responsibility of supervising eight joint directors in charge of the disciplines of Reservoir and Appurtenant Structures, Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Hydromechanics, Ship Hydrodynamics and Mathematical Modeling, covering about 100 professionals and 250 supporting staff.

 July 1993 to December 2000 :          Joint Director, CWPRS

 Responsibility of supervising works of the Chief Research Officers heading the divisions of High Head Structures, Gates and Valves, Hydromechanics, Water and Power Information System (Library),Water distribution, Workshop and Vigilance .

Analytical and experimental studies on river development projects such as layouts of dams, spillways, power plants, intakes, control structures, water conductor systems, tailrace structures etc. and prototype performance of the above structures in relation to model findings.

Guiding basic and general research on the above topics.

July 1987 to July 1993:                     Chief Research Officer, CWPRS

 Head of High Head Structures division. Duties included:  Organizing and guiding the research activity relating to the hydraulic design of spillways and energy dissipaters including layouts, hydraulic efficiency, hydrodynamic forces on structures etc.

Important contributions included studies on Bekhme dam spillway and plunge pool (Iraq), Chamera dam spillway and plunge pool, Sardar Sarovar dam spillway and stilling basin, Ranjitsagar dam spillway and stilling basin, Nathpa Jhakari dam spillway, Bakurman and Khalilkan dams spillways (Conducted at Baghdad, Iraq)

 March 1981 to July 1987:            Senior Research Officer, CWPRS

 Coordinating research studies for the hydraulic design of spillways and energy dissipators.

Important contributions included studies for the spillways, energy dissiopators and downstream flow conditions for the dams of Salal, Sedawgyi (Myanmar), Chukha (Bhutan), Upper Kolab, Srisailam and Salauli projects.

  • GMR Group: Studies pertaining to the need or otherwise of a desilting basin for the proposed Bajoli Holi HE Project (Concluded)
